Times are uncertain...a colossal understatement, I know. And it can seem that the best thing to do is hunker down and wait for it to pass. But I am going to encourage you to pay particular attention to your mental health and emotional needs at this time. Taking care of you and your relationship is important to allow you to manage the various roles you are juggling in your life: parent, teacher, employee, financial planner, house manager, pet manager and so on.
It's not uncommon to feel hopeful one day and defeated the next. It's not uncommon to feel significantly more anxiety than you have before. Working with a therapist can help with this, and it's super important. Anxiety is the portal through which more serious mental health concerns always pass first. Managing anxiety is also an area that can be improved upon with some deliberate attention and assistance from an anxiety pro (like me).
So please, I implore you to reach out. Most of us are working online through video conferencing, and there are all insurance options and price points of therapists. There is no reason not to seek assistance. Part of my job is to help you find qualified clinicians, even if you are not my client. Truly, reach out, I'm here. It'd be my pleasure to help you in any way I can.
